Danwei found this clip of one of the finalists for Super Girl (or, we guess, Happy Girls), Huang Ying (黄英), singing the "Father of Chinese Rock," Cui Jian's, famous anthem, Nothing to my Name (一无所有).
The song, when performed in 1986, became a great sensation amongst Chinese youth. In 1989, it was performed live at Tiananmen Square, with Cui Jian wearing a red blindfold to symbolize the oppressiveness of the CCP.
Following the crackdown, both on protesters and rock musicians, Cui Jian was banned from playing major venues in Beijing. That ban was finally lifted in 2000.
