Have you ever wondered what life must be like for someone who is watched everywhere she goes, whether she's eating, drinking, sleeping, shopping? It's the reason why Shanghai photographer
Don Yap has tagged her "jailbird" in one of his recent portraits of her. Watch Paris eat
xiaolongbao at Nanxiang and sip tea at Yuyuan, and go shopping at Lu Kun's (the greatest PR coup scored yet by any Shanghai-based designer!). The Shanghai municipal government also owes her several million dollars in media value because, as our friends from
Smart Shanghai reported (in an
aptly-named story), she didn't know what to say at the press conference had to "gush" like three times that "Shanghai looks like the future!" As a result, that one line has been splashed across
headlines everywhere. (Yet as SmSh reports, that line wasn't very original because it's exactly the same thing that Gore Vidal said when he was in town!) When asked what she thought of Chinese men, she went absolutely quiet "Um ... They're polite and sweet. I haven't really met any actually. But tonight I'm going to be at Attica." We hope someone at the
Grand Hyatt had the good sense to install a video camera in her suite? Shanghaiist will gladly pay five million dollars kuai for the scoop.
