Danwei to be acquired by GAPP

Your correspondent is happy to announce that GAPP has acquired 100% of Danwei Ltd. in a cash transaction.

After talks lasting almost two years, the government media regulation agency signed off on the deal in Beijing this morning.

Under the terms of the deal, Danwei's current staff will continue with their current roles, but 2009 will be a period of rapid expansion using investment from GAPP to fund acquisitions and production of new, related websites.
